Rusty Bottle Tops

I decided to give rusting up some fabric a try. Surprising how quickly those bottle tops piled up once we started saving them. It took me a while to figure out that damp makes more rust than moist and moist makes more rust than wet.

Someone suggested using vinegar for this, but water actually worked better. Go figure.

Wonder which brand of bottle top will end up making the best rust marks? Now, to figure out what to do with it once I undo the bottle tops and dry the fabric.

Growth Spurt

We've had a bit of rain lately and this climbing plant decided to have a huge growth spurt before things dry out again.

The Latch

On Sunday morning, we discovered that someone left the interior light on in the car overnight. The details aren't important, but we weren't going anywhere until the NRMA man came and jumped the battery.

Of course, once the car is going again (and the interior light was turned off), there is nothing to do but let the car run for a while to get some charge back into the battery. Does give one a chance to think about this particular twist to the phrase 'fuel economy'.

So, what to do but take some pictures?

I have never liked the latch on the back gate ... it is almost impossible to open unless both hands are free. And what are the chances of that ever happening? So I decided to capture The Latch for posterity.

Sunset Silhouettes

I've been struggling with a sore throat and cough so haven't been keeping up with my blog. But I did manage to get both quilts I've entered in the Sydney Quilt Show finished and dropped off. PHEW!!!

Then, on the way home, I realised that I'd forgotten to take photos of the finished quilts. Think I'll go back to bed now.

Splash of Christmas Colour

When the days get shorter and the nights get colder, well, can Christmas be far behind?

Well, in the Southern hemisphere, I'll have to wait for 6 months for my Christmas Day lunch of seafood and champagne at the beach and the Boxing Day test. But for now, I can almost hear Bing Crosby singing 'White Christmas' ...
